What is wrong with this picture?

I had to park next to a small throng of protesters when I went to get my yummy, delicious cyclone shrimp from Jonah's today at lunch. Of course, the protesters were attempting to rally the troops against government mandated health care. Blah blah. Lots of the signs had statements about being informed and being angry.

But the one that amused me the most was the one that was so informed, she didn't know how to spell her own profession correctly:

I really should start blogging again more but twitter is my current obsession

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 Posted In , Edit This 1 Comment »

I seriously spend way too much time tweeting. I know I used to devote my time to this blog and I really do miss it. Honest, I do. But I have to admit that I'm currently obsessed quite thoroughly with Twitter.

Posting 140 characters or less suits me just perfectly. Why say in 20 words what you can say in 2? That's always been my motto. And it is a motto just made for twitter, if you ask me.

However, I find that I've wasted far too much time and energy on tweeting. Take today for example, I spent the entire afternoon twebating with a rightwing nut compassionate (his label) conservative that believes Michael Vick's prison sentence was too harsh. He believes that Vick should not have been jailed. At all.

I couldn't help myself. When someone tells me that animal abuse has no correlation on domestic abuse or murder statistics, I tend to get a little preachy. Because that's bullshit. Then the guy had the nerve to bring up abortion. I kept waiting for Hitler's name to get thrown into the argument so I could scream "Godwin's Law - I win!" but alas, it never happened. Either way, the guy was a whackjob. Here's to hoping he never wins a political seat.

More work to do...

Amazing!

History has been made and I'm thrilled.

If you were one of perhaps five people that missed it, you can go here for the text of President Obama's inaugural speech.

I am so sick of seeing those pink oval VP stickers that have Palin running vertically down the P. I probably see 50 of them a day on my way to work and again on my way home. They are everywhere down here. I thought they were obnoxious enough during the campaign, but now that the election is over and we are days away from the inauguration, it is just time to let it go.

Same goes to all of the people out there with the SARAH! stickers and the McCain/Palin ones, too.

If it is a matter of laziness, let me know. I'll come right over and scrape those suckers right off for you.

I'm just kind and generous that way.

History has been made!

Tonight the country watched as Barack Obama steadily claimed the win as the next President of the United States.

History in the making, indeed.

I am over the moon. It went better than I had wished. Now I pray for a better future and the fulfillment of positive change for Americans and the rest of the world.

I should be allowed to vote!

You Should Be Allowed to Vote

You got 12/15 questions correct.

Generally speaking, you're very well informed.

If you vote this election, you'll know exactly who (and what) you'll be voting for.

You're likely to have strong opinions, and you have the facts to back them up.

Darn glad I passed this quiz, since I already cast my vote! Go take it and let me know how you did!

Thanks One-Hip-Mom for the quiz!

I voted!

I arrived at my polling place this morning at 6:50. I was probably the 12th person in line. I vote in a very tiny precinct and the ladies that were volunteering there were shocked at the turnout so early. Apparently a line there is a rare thing! I am glad to see such a great turnout even so early in the morning. I do hope it continues in that vein throughout the day.

Now begins a long day and night of waiting (and hoping) for good results!

Vote Tomorrow!

If you haven't voted early already, please get out and vote tomorrow! I know I am so ready for Tuesday to be over. It is time to move forward, in my opinion. Personally, I hope we don't end up with more of the same, but at this point I am just ready to quit talking it all to death!

The Great Debates

Classy, eh?

I'm glad the debates are over. My mind has been made up for awhile and none of the debates have changed it for me. If anything, it has solidified my opinion that McCain is a hateful, warmongering asshole, who plans to screw me on health insurance and send my son to war someday.
